In the Bahamas- snorkel on an excursion or on your own?
We are active in Oct and I am not sure if we should go on an excursion or just do it on our own. Does anyone have experience with both? Where are good places to snorkel near Nassau & Seventh heaven Island?
Both! Find an outing that has 3 different spots to snorkel. Sometimes the water can be a bit murky in places. If you are on an excursion, you better your chances of seeing more.

If you're proper staying in Nassau and Paradise Island, do the excursion. I was staying in Hopetown and went snorkelig by myself. We rented a small craft to find some neat snorkeling places. But also just went snorkeling at 2 different reefs just off different

Hi there. There are indeed sharks in the Bahamas. But unless you knowingly opt a shark swimming company, you will not see any sharks on your snorkel excursion as they will take you to reefs where there are beautiful fish and lots of coral and no sharks.
