Do i need a passport to fly from Florida to Bahamas?

I went to the Bahamas in Dec of 05 and i only needed my drivers approve and my birth certificate. I didn't know if the laws had changed or what. Any help?

My fiance and I are looking to go to the Bahamas for a vacation, 8 days 7 nights. We were wondering if we were to make an exit from somewhere in Florida, would we be able to rent a speed boat or a boat to go to the Bahamas, instead of flying?

from florida to bahamas / st.pete to bahams how many hours?

You don't say where in the Bahamas but it will take a duo of hours if you can get a direct flight, more if you have to make a stop somewhere else in Florida.
