You're not infernal to go at all, my dear. In fact, I just left the kids with my hubby for four days to visit a friend that I hadn't seen in two years. If he doesn't in point of fact want you to go, he needs to be honest about that. If he said it is ok by him, GO!
Sounds like you have a talented husband. You need to figure out a way to reward his behavior. Does he have a hobby, (fishing, sports, etc) that he enjoys, but doesnt have the every so often or opportunity to enjoy? Then tell him that if he really means it about you
